United Way Emergency Assistance Programs
Due to the current economic crisis that have plagued our country and state, United Way of St. Charles realizes it may be a tough time financially for many residents across St. Charles Parish. To help those with financial burdens, UWSC offers an "Emergency Case Management Assistance" program through Catholic Charities in Boutte. This program provides emergency assistance for rent, utility bills and medication.
For residents needing long-term assistance, Catholic Charities also operates the UWSC Money Matters: Financial Stability Program. The UWSC Money Matters program works to address the on-going needs of individuals and families in St. Charles Parish to help them attain greater self-sufficiency and financial independence. A long-term Community Case Manager works directly with clients to assess their needs and to develop a plan of care that coaches clients in developing skills and other resources needed to reduce their dependence on emergency services.
For more information on these programs, contact Charisse Sorapuru at 985-785-2113.
