United Way of St. Charles Selects 2018 Campaign Leaders
Representatives from Valero St. Charles Refinery, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, and St. Charles Parish Hospital/Ochsner are serving as chairpersons for the 2018 United Way of St. Charles Fall Campaign.
This year’s Co-Chairs are Jerry Stumbo, Vice President & General Manager of Valero St. Charles Refinery, Chief Rodney Madere, Chief Deputy of St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, Teddi Touchard Roberts, Community Outreach for St. Charles Hospital/Ochsner, and Laurie Guichard, United Way of St. Charles Volunteer.
“I am extremely humbled and honored to represent Valero as one of this year’s United Way Co-Chairs. For nearly 40 years, community service has remained in the heart of Valero’s people. Our generous St. Charles employees raised over $1.15 million and achieved 100% participation during the last campaign. I am confident that we will have yet another successful campaign this year,” said Vice President and General Manager Jerry Stumbo. “As a Co-Chair, I look forward to encouraging others to join us in our fundraising efforts. United Way is a partner in change, working alongside community-minded companies and individuals to identify and meet the most critical needs in our community. By giving to our local United Way, we are directing funds to a place that can support people in the most efficient and targeted way. And, as is true every year, any one of us could end up needing some type of help from United Way. So it is worth our support to keep the organization going.”
United Way of St. Charles conducts a fundraising campaign every fall to develop resources that help support agencies and programs providing direct services in St. Charles Parish. The United Way Campaign is held during the months of August through December.

As Chief Deputy of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, I see first-hand the positive impact that the United Way of St. Charles has on our community,” said Chief Rodney Madere. “United Way makes our job a little easier with helping provide much needed services to our youth and senior citizens. The outstanding services United Way of St. Charles provides is proof of money well spent. Residents can be comforted in knowing that quality resources are only a phone call away. My goal as Co-Chair is to make our campaign even more successful by sharing the knowledge I have learned through site visits to our employees so they will be confident in knowing their donations are being utilized in a positive manner.”
