Shell Donates $100,000 to Support St. Charles Parish Tornado Relief Efforts

In the aftermath of the December 14th tornadoes, Shell has donated $100,000 to support local tornado relief efforts.

“Many of the residents affected by last weeks’ tornadoes are still recovering from Hurricane Ida and now face additional challenges during this holiday season. We can’t thank Shell enough for jumping straight into action and being there when assistance is needed the most,” said John Dias, United Way of St. Charles Executive Director.

Immediately following the tornadoes’ impact, United Way of St. Charles began their response and recovery efforts throughout St. Charles Parish. In partnership with local government and other local agencies, UWSC has assisted more than 100 residents with housing, food, clothing, and other basic needs in the aftermath of December 14th.

“Shell Norco’s ties to St. Charles Parish have held fast for almost 100 years. Today we are not only committed to sustaining our presence in the area but also dedicated to enhancing St. Charles Parish as one of the best places to live and work. As a neighbor we immediately respond in troubled times. Our contribution to the United Way of St. Charles following the recent devastation from the tornado that impacted our local community reflects our concern for our friends and neighbors and the resilience that comes from working together in both good and bad times,” said Shell Norco General Manager Tammy Little.

“Our community stands together in times of great need. The funds received from Shell will allow United Way to support the immediate and long-term needs of residents,” Dias concluded.
