The Valero River Parishes Community College United Way of St. Charles Campus provides St. Charles Parish residents with a local technical and vocational school where students will be able to attain an associate’s degree in area such as process technology or instrumentation. Part of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System, the campus’ goal is to serve a wide range of students – including people right out of high school wanting to learn a trade, students wishing to start at a smaller institution before transferring to a large university and people working in a minimum wage job looking for an advancement opportunity.
Before the campus was developed through a $3.3 million investment by United Way of St. Charles, students in St. Charles Parish had to travel to other parishes for the types of educational programs now offered at the college in Boutte.
