St. Charles Parish and United Way Initiate Hurricane Laura Donation Drive

 
St. Charles Parish and United Way St. Charles have teamed up to collect supply donations for victims of Hurricane Laura.
 
Drop off Monday, August 31, 2020, through Wednesday, September 2, 2020, between 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center at 274 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling and the Allen Arterbury Building at 14564 River Road in New Sarpy.
 
“The devastation in Calcasieu Parish and surrounding parishes is heartbreaking and could have easily happened here in St. Charles Parish,” said President Matthew Jewell.
 
“On the eve of the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, I can think of no better way then to help our neighbors in Southwest Louisiana who were there for us in our time of need 15 years ago. I am encouraging all St. Charles Parish residents and businesses to donate what they can and help ease the road to recovery for those devastated by Hurricane Laura.”
 
The following is a list of items that the parish is collecting:
• Water
• Toilet paper
• Hand sanitizer
• Toothbrushes, paste
• Soap
• Shampoo
• Deodorant
• Feminine products
• Baby food, formula, bottles, diapers, wipes
• Cleaning and Sanitizing Products
• Masks
• Non-perishable foods (pop-top cans, ready to eat dinners, Gatorade, pop tarts, granola bars)
• Towels
• Packaged undergarments and socks (No other clothing will be accepted per FEMA guidelines)

Donations for animals are also being collected at the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter including:
